Jupiter Retrograde: Discovering Hidden Resources
"Both abundance and lack exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend... when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present - love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature and personal pursuits that bring us pleasure - the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience Heaven on Earth." ~ Sarah Ban Breathnach
As the wheel of the year turns toward the dark times, you may find the pace of life beginning to slow down. Through the coming months, Jupiter is retrograde in Taurus, inviting us to look for the hidden meaning and unexpected opportunities awaiting us in this life.
Earthy Taurus rules the world of the senses, as well as all the green abundance of the natural world. Taurus perseveres through tough times, but it also forgets to let go of its suffering when the tough times are over. Jupiter retrograde says, "Look beyond the usual to the unusual" in order to break old patterns, especially those concerning wealth, self-sufficiency, and body-image.
Although a backwards moving Jupiter can indicate a reversal of fortunes, it can actually help us find more resources if we relinquish control just enough to see beyond our habits. While Taurus loves a good cash flow and a lavish home-base, this transit can let us see our resources in a new light.
Jupiter is often described as expansive and larger-than-life, so it could awaken our over-consumption and hoarding tendencies in earthy Taurus. But Jupiter is also a symbol of the teacher, guru or god who helps us to awaken to the more-than-material world.
Focus on the meaning beyond the material in order to ride this wave through the winter holidays. To connect to this cosmic reminder to slow down, let yourself be more present to your body and the larger body of the Living Earth, so that you may receive the bounty of real communion.
Between now and the Autumn Equinox, notice which parts of your day are draining your energy - specific times, people, or activities that constantly zap you of power. Ask yourself how you can change these patterns and what activities or intetests might bring you more vitality and health. (And stay tuned to read my Autumn Equinox forecast in the coming weeks.)
I wish for each of you to find greater patience and compassion for yourself in the coming months. While the energy of the cosmos continues to amplify its drumbeat to transformation, remember that you are in a body full of wisdom and beauty. Take care of that body. You are a precious gift.♥
