Full Moon Focus
Scorpio: Mystery and Transformation
Full Moon on May 17

With the Full Moon in Scorpio on May 17th, the focus is on journeying into the intense fires of change in order to discover true intimacy and personal power. Scorpio desires pure union and to uncover the energy that operates underneath our conscious striving. The polarity of Scorpio is Taurus, the sign of stability, sensual pleasure, and the material world. With Scorpio, we seek to dip below the surface of the material world in order to find connection that transcends the personal.

The dark side of Scorpio can work on us through intense emotional drama that seems to erupt from nowhere.  For this Full Moon, you may be forced to confront your own jealousy, possessiveness or emotional manipulation.

Tension can run high in relationships, and you may feel overly sensitive to other peoples’ words and energies. But it is most likely our sub-conscious desires that are calling the shots.  Take an honest look at your own feelings and needs. When the time is right, find an honest and open way to work with those issues.

True intimacy and inner transformation go hand in hand when we are willing to discuss our needs and listen with openness to the needs of our loved ones. This is a moon to celebrate your own magical power, and to engage in divination or other spiritual tools to align with the unseen forces that guide us. Honor your passion and intensity. Scorpio reminds us that when we face the darkness within, we can come through adversity with greater strength and clarity about who we are.

Sabian Symbol for 26-27 Scorpio: A military band marches noisily through the city streets. The aggressive glorification of cultural values.
