“The coming ecological disaster we worry about has already occurred, and goes on occurring. It takes place in the accounts of ourselves that separate us from the world.” ~ James Hillman in The Soul’s Code
Chiron moved into Pisces on February 5th and will remain there for 8 years. It will be joined by Neptune in April, deepening the spiritual longing for union and psychological-emotional wellness. Chiron’s mythology tells us about the archetype of the “wounded healer” and asks us to face up to our own personal suffering in order to discover the deeper gifts of our wounds.
Our understanding of the world and the belief systems that grow from that understanding will be shifting under this influence. Our culture has been steeped for millennia in the idea that we are separate from nature, that above all things in creation, it is humanity alone that was given consciousness, intelligence, and meaning. Of course, this idea has produced the painful wound of separateness, contributing to a profound sense of alienation many of us feel and to a rapidly disintegrating bio-sphere.
With Chiron in Pisces, we may really feel this wound of our separateness more profoundly, and we must face this wound and feel it. Only by softening the defenses around it can we move forward with healing and the ability to feel ourselves as kindred with all things. Our defenses are what keep us from growing, not the wound itself.
“Genius has its source in instinct.” – Nietzsche
We are seeing firsthand the waves of aggression and violence such unacknowledged wounds create. While Uranus makes its final approach and enters Aries On March 11, it can liberate us from out-dated belief systems or structures in our lives – but we have to be mindful or individual needs spin out of control into fascism and authoritarianism. This is the energy of insurrection and uprising. It is also a boost of energy to help us get clearer about our unique purpose, invigorating us to do what needs to be done. Uranus in Aries is the power to dare.
Healing our personal wounds is so necessary to healing our collective wounds. Take a deeper look at the “lie of separateness” and how it operates in your life. Are you pointing fingers instead of acknowledging the blame and fear you feel inside of you? Only by facing your own woundedness, can you prepare to give birth to yourself. Get ready to be welcomed back to the fullness of life, kindred with all beings.
