Forecast for August 2012 by Rhea Wolf

"Many believe that the dawning Age of Light or Age of Consciousness defines itself in relation to our capacity for unconditional love, our ability to transcend enemy patterning and victim consciousness while adopting unity consciousness that sees divinity in all things. From this standpoint, it might be said humans are evolving into a "biologically conscious" species capable of holding and sharing the full light of unconditional love."

~ Sol Luckman, Conscious Healing

Mars has been kicking up some dust for the past few weeks, making a T-Square formation with Uranus and Pluto. In Libra, Mars' warrior nature is aimed at relationships. In certain myths, the goddess Venus or Aphrodite (ruler of Libra) is the only one who can subdue Mars' violent nature. He becomes like a pussycat in her hands, happily satiated from their lusty coupling. Although Mars/Ares was invoked and feared as the god of war, instigating bloodshed between humans on the earthly plane, he himself only ever killed one person – and this was the man who raped his daughter.

If we perceive the highest potential for Mars, we ignite our warrior nature to fight for balance, harmony, justice and peaceful relationships in our lives. If we unleash the violent, insecure aspects of Mars, we tear down other people in order to create the semblance of peace. ("You are dead/silenced/oppressed, therefore, we achieved peace.") This Full Moon, Mars in Libra will definitely bring a dose of intensity to our relationships, but also to our inner landscapes. Making peace this month means standing up for your rights but also standing guard against tendencies to bully or silence others.

The Grand Air trine between the Moon, Jupiter and Mars this Full Moon means that we have to harness the powers of the mind, the intellect, the sharp clarity of insight in order to make our actions have full impact. Even though the Sun is in its home sign of fiery Leo, we need to act with more restraint at this time, taking full advantage of our tools to strategize, decipher, and formulate actions. Our impulsive creativity shows the way. Then we have to get our minds to figure out the best path ahead.

While Mercury is still retrograde in Leo until August 7, we are invited to explore our personal destiny and honor the individual path we came here to walk. Reflect on what brings you joy and makes you feel playful and alive. Walking toward your destiny means looking to the past for clues as well: the wounds that have shaped you, the moments of dazzling clarity about who you really are. Especially during the next week, give yourself time to reach into yourself for fresh stories about what you came here to shine into the world. What you say has power, so take a moment to pause before blurting out the answers.

I know I've written this before, but you need to hear it again. We are really being challenged to step up right now. In counseling sessions, with friends and relatives, in society as a whole – we are all facing some big issues and feeling uncertain about the future. We are all wondering which way to go. We know that something big is coming and we want to be ready for it. You are not alone in this. Keep moving yourself into position to be ready when the gates open up. Stop doing the things that are hurting you and making you believe that you are any less than a child of the Divine. It truly is time to follow our hearts – or at least stop ignoring them.

When the Sun is in Leo, we can be reminded to listen to the Divine Child within that knows it deserves love and does not deserve to be kept in darkness, to be in pain, to be neglected. The Sun shines its radiance down to the Earth without us asking it to. It doesn't need to be reimbursed or adored for its generosity. It just shines. Because that is what it does. And as a consequence, we have life here on this blue-green gem of a planet. Beautiful, complex, ever-creative life. Soak in the truth of that. You deserve it. That's love.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away."
(I Corinthians, 13:4-8, New International Bible)

What passes away? Knowledge, speech, prophecies. They come and go. They change. What we think we know dies and is reborn as something else. But what endures? Love.

"All began in love; all seeks to return to love. Love is the law, the teacher of wisdom, and the great revealer of mysteries." (Miria Myth, Feri Tradition)

Let yourself be loved. A friend of mine recently told me that "You can't call it in without experiencing it for yourself." Letting yourself be loved helps you love more deeply, and vice versa. Experience it for yourself.

Coming in September, we have the second of seven exact contacts between Uranus and Pluto. The first contact on June 24th was about listening, tuning in to what was happening in our lives and being confronted by the messages to see what needed to change. Remember that Uranus and Pluto contacts bring widespread cultural change, personal awakening, and shattering of old forms. To prepare for this next phase, it would be a good idea to look at what we appreciate about the old model. We don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater, so to speak. If we are really about to birth a new world, can we harvest anything from the old one to help us move forward? What do you like about the current system? If the answer is "Nothing," then move on ahead. But if there are things you like, such as indoor plumbing, hospitals, or beer, think about what you can do to help something like that continue into the emerging culture.

It's a matter of acknowledging what civilization has created. Not glorifying it, but accepting what has been made possible through its structures. Once we do that, we can ask for more. For example, we can say, "Hey, universities are a great invention. Now, how can we make sure everyone has access to the best possible education?"

I also think that more and more people out there are getting their minds blown by new psychic and metaphysical energy. When the mysterious flows in, some people have no idea what is happening to them. As more of us gain access to these unseen powers, there is the potential for epiphanies as well as dangerous breakdowns. Protecting yourself and your loved ones is important right now. However, what I am suggesting is not like the armed protection Colorado folks craved as they rushed out to buy guns after the movie theater shooting tragedy. What I mean could look like imagining yourself walking around in an energy shield, or sitting down on the meditation cushion every day so that you are less susceptible to the mind's meanderings, or figuring out how to de-stress and detox after a busy day. If we want to be able to tell beauty from bullshit, we need clear channels of perception. There's a lot of fear, anger, and isolation at play right now – and this can easily slide into our own control booths if we aren't prepared to meet it with (you guessed it) love, truth, and connection.

Will love save us from more gun-wielding maniacs? It might not stop a bullet or cancer or capitalism from destroying the planet. But I believe that love does persevere, and that perhaps it will be what ultimately saves us from ourselves.♥
