More about me... (in case you wanted to know)
I have been a passionate student of astrology since I was a kid. When I was five-years-old, I discovered a poster of the Zodiac hanging on my babysitter’s wall, and was given a hippie teenager's version of what all the signs mean. I remember feeling a sense of wonder and also familiarity, like I was coming home to something. Since then, I’ve devoured countless books on astrology, and received training and guidance from lectures and workshops with amazing astrologers, such as Demetra George, Caroline Casey, Steven Forrest, and Jan Spiller to name a few. In 2003, I undertook a year of study with Astrologer Emily Trinkaus, and with her encouragement, I began giving readings near the end of my Saturn Return.
As a writer, witch and astrologer, I strive to offer healing and support that activates people to their full potential and reconnects us to rich relationships with the Earth and each other. I believe strongly in encouraging others’ creativity and self-expression as a means to create a more humane, just and vibrant culture. I have been a workshop facilitator for thirteen years, bringing creative writing, theater arts and the Work that Reconnects to a variety of groups, including at-risk youth and women in prison. I worked as Program Coordinator for Write Around Portland, an amazing nonprofit that coordinates creative writing workshops for low-income adults and others throughout the Portland area. I continue to facilitate creative writing workshops for women through Portland Women Writers. I was a member of the Sowelu Ensemble Theater for 5 years, where I co-wrote Am I Turning Into a Fish? and received training in the Meisner Technique and Anne Bogart’s Viewpoints. I have a BFA in Theater, and studied Deep Ecology at the Naropa Institute. I received training as a writing facilitator in the Amherst Writers & Artists lineage from Write Around Portland and in the "Work that Reconnects" from renowned author and workshop leader Joanna Macy.
I have a regular astrology column appearing in Alternatives Magazine, a publication found in the Pacific Northwest and on-line. In 2006, I self-published Persephone Rising, a chapbook of poems and stories. In 2008, I created and performed the poem-play Bones in the Earth. On top of writing and working, I am the mama (yeah, that’s work too) to two spunky, magical daughters. I garden, take walks, dance, and enjoy a healthy addiction to old episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
In all I do, I strive to honor each person’s own way to Spirit. I meet the challenges of our complex human relationships with thoughtfulness, compassion and determination. I believe we need all of our voices in order to inhabit a re-enchanted and rEvolutionized world.
Oh yeah, and I’m a double Leo with a Taurus Moon.

Want the change. Be inspired by the flame / Where everything shines as it disappears. The artist, when sketching, loves nothing so much / as the curve of the body as it turns away.
... Pour yourself like a fountain. / Flow into the knowledge that what you are seeking finishes often at the start, and, with ending, begins.
~ from Sonnets To Orpheus, Rainer Maria Rilke
